Transform the Culture of Conservation

Planet Women is modeling a different kind of leadership for the environmental movement.

Our model centers women and marginalized communities; embraces power sharing, collaboration, and compassion; and balances scientific knowledge with intuitive wisdom. We believe that by transforming the way that we work and live, we can all heal ourselves, heal each other and heal the planet.

CURRENT PROJECTS

100 Women Pathway

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Planet Women is building a network of women changemakers, scientists, creatives, and thinkers in order to propel them into key leadership positions across the environmental field. The 100 Women Pathway is a powerful community of diverse leaders guiding global response to climate change, environmental injustice, the extinction crisis, and more.

  • Planet Women is partnering with female CEOs of environmental organizations to bring together 100 diverse women who are ready to take the next step in their leadership journey.

  • The 100 Women Pathway is an eight-month program with an active alumni network. We offer participants a transformational journey of personal growth and empowerment that will help each woman develop their individualized pathway to executive leadership.

  • Each participant will explore the power of their narrative and gain insights from coaching and mentorship from supportive peers, coaches, recruiters, and women executive leaders.

Each participant has been identified as a rising leader in the environmental movement and nominated for 100 Women Pathway by a CEO. Get to know the cohorts by clicking the button below. We continue to add participants, so check back often.

GOAL

Double the number of diverse women in c-suite roles at U.S.-based environmental organizations over the next five years.

Center for Gender, Equity & the Environment

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Center for Gender, Equity & the Environment (CGEE) is a Planet Women initiative in Africa. Since 2022, CGEE programs have brought together women and men from across Africa to integrate gender into fieldwork and planning, and to exchange knowledge and peer support. The CGEE initiative has two programs:

  • Gender Mainstreaming is an eight-week course that provides technical training on how to embed gender into fieldwork and planning. The course supports individuals and organizations in including women’s voices and priorities in project design and implementation. Participants complete a unique gender analysis and action plan for their project.

  • The Women’s Leadership Circle is an eight-month program that brings together women from across Africa who are leaders in forest restoration and the environmental movement. Participants support one another in reaching their personal and professional goals as they engage in skill-building workshops and knowledge exchanges.

GOALS

Provide African grassroots groups working on reforestation with resources and technical support.

Increase gender equity and social justice in workplaces and communities.
