Jordan Peavey
Jordan is the Director of Institutional Giving and Community Giving for Khan Academy. In this role, she works with foundations and corporations to support Khan Academy’s mission to provide a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere. She also leads Khan Academy’s digital fundraising program to cultivate and steward the nearly 100,000 Khan Academy learners who are also donors.
Jordan is an experienced nonprofit leader with a proven track record of success in marketing, strategic communications, and fundraising. She believes that combining data and storytelling can unlock positive change. She’s an expert at building teams and programs that increase revenue, build awareness, and deepen support for transformative causes.
Prior to joining Khan Academy, she held a variety of roles at The Nature Conservancy. She led all aspects of marketing, branding, and communications as the Director of Marketing for the California chapter of the Nature Conservancy where she helped achieve conservation victories, develop the California chapter’s brand, and partnered with her philanthropy colleagues to create a successful capital campaign. Prior to that, she was Director of Marketing for The Nature Conservancy’s Worldwide Office, working to advance The Nature Conservancy’s top global priorities and build outreach for the Conservancy’s global work.
She also has faint memories of starting her career in public relations for technology companies. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Santa Clara University. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and child. She’s a devoted hiker, addicted coffee drinker, intrepid traveler, serious shoe collector, and strictly amateur wildlife spotter.
