…where the vibrant diversity of earth’s people collaborate on equal footing to care for the planet.

That’s not yet our reality.

At the largest global conservation organizations, more than 80% of staff are white and leadership is still male-dominated. This lack of diversity holds true at philanthropic foundations and U.S. public agencies that support the environment. The people solving our planetary crisis are facing a culture crisis.

That’s why

we created

Planet Women.

We believe that diverse leadership and gender equity are essential to innovation and success at all levels of the environmental movement, from rural communities to the halls of government.

Planet Women combines the best elements of conservation with a radical new approach to leadership and work culture to build a stronger and more inclusive environmental movement. And, as the name says, we invest in women-focused, women-led solutions.

Why women?

Gender equity is critical to solving climate change; and women leaders have proven themselves to often be better at handling a crisis. Women bring unique perspectives, knowledge and social roles that make them a critical part of conservation and the intersecting movements for environmental, racial and social justice.
